Mission Statement:

South Pointe Community Club is committed to enhancing the middle school experience for all students, teachers, and staff. We are dedicated to raising funds to further the education and wellness of our students and encouraging school spirit throughout the year.

Get Involved!

Community Club is formed by a passionate group of volunteer parents and caretakers of students with a common goal: raising funds to provide educational enrichment, wellness, and increase student opportunities. We need your enthusiasm, active participation, and financial contribution to ensure that our children and our school have the resources they need to succeed. Parents are encouraged to donate, volunteer and attend monthly meetings, held in-person and online, to hear the latest news from staff and Community Club!

This is South Pointe Community Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year! Please consider a donation to help us continue the many wonderful programs your contributions make possible. All donations are allocated in their entirety, with 100% of the funds directly benefiting our students.

How much money does South Pointe Community Club (SPCC) raise to fund the school?

SPCC’s goal is to raise $50,000 this year.

What are the main volunteer-driven fundraisers that we are planning at South Pointe Middle School this year?

Panther Pride: This is our largest fundraiser each year. It is an annual direct-ask campaign. The more we raise during this main fundraiser, the less fundraising we will do throughout the year. There is also an opportunity for a student's birthday to be posted on the electronic marquee with a $50 donation. PLEASE donate any amount that is meaningful, yet realistic for your family.

Spirit Gear Sales: This year, we will be selling a limited inventory of the SPMS embroidered sweatshirt introduced last year as a Panther Pride donation incentive item. Students love to wear spirit gear as it has been approved under the dress code.

Family Restaurant Nights: We will plan a couple Restaurant Nights for this school year. It is an easy way for the school to receive a percentage of the proceeds while giving families a night off from cooking dinner! Our most popular restaurants are Chick-Fil-A and Panda Express.

Snacky Wednesdays: The last Wednesday of each month (except for December and May), we will sell snacks to students immediately after school. We offer a pre-paid Snacky punch card. For $20 cash, your student can purchase a punch card for payment with a $22 value.

Home Sports Game Snack Sales: We provide a snack bar during home sports games to provide refreshments for our athletes and the spectators.

Who runs the fundraisers?

The fundraisers above will be run by South Pointe Community Club volunteer parents. There are additional fundraisers coordinated by ASB and other parent booster clubs.

What does the money raised pay for?

100% of the proceeds from any of the above mentioned fundraisers go directly to the school. The funds raised are used to enhance and enrich student experiences. Some items that our funds cover include:

6th grade science camp
7th grade Medieval Times field trip
8th grade promotion
Technology & equipment grant
Library grant
Education apps
Wellness Center
Teacher support
Emergency supplies

How can I donate?

To make a monetary donation in-person, please bring cash or a check payable to: South Pointe Community Club. Envelopes are available at the front office. Note: a $25 non-refundable fee will be applied for returned checks.

Are my donations tax deductible?

Yes. All donations are held and processed by South Pointe Community Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

What is an employer matching gift?

Many employers provide matching gift programs that match their employee’s charitable contributions. This is a commonly overlooked employment benefit. Please ask your HR or Benefits department to see if your employer offers a matching program. It is typically a very quick and simple process to set up a matching contribution, and it will double your donations!

Do other schools have to fundraise?

Yes. Every school in WVUSD has fundraisers, including a direct-ask educational fund campaign. This is common practice for both public and private schools. Parental donations have dramatically increased in California over the last few decades. See the following chart that demonstrates the growth of private fundraising efforts in our public schools:

Meeting Dates and Calendar of Events

Monthly Meeting Dates:

Community Club meets once a month, on the first Tuesday of the month from 8:30AM - 9:30AM in a hybrid format, at South Pointe Middle School Community Club room and Google Meet (online).

Monthly After-School Snack Sales:

Snacky Wednesday will be hosted once per month on the last Wednesday of the month. This year, we are offering a “pre-paid” Snacky Wednesday card for $20 (cash only after registration week). The benefits of the card include:
