SPMS Virtual Library

The South Pointe Library catalog can be accessed virtually using Destiny Discover. From here you can browse books, put books on hold, and check out ebooks.

Pick up and drop off times:

Every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:15 pm - 3:00 pm

 

Please wait until you receive an email

 that your hold is ready to come pick it up

 

Pick up a book:

After placing a book on hold, you will receive an email on your student email account that the book is ready for pick up. You can then come during one of the pick-up times to get your book. Books will be held for one week.

 

Drop off a book:

To drop off a book, please visit the library during the drop off times. No appointment is necessary. 

 

 

Resources for Free ebooks:

Below we’ve provided some resources to access free ebooks. Be sure that your parent/guardian helps you choose something wonderful. 


Barnes & Noble 

This retail giant offers free eBooks for Barnes & Noble account holders with a Nook reader. The generous selection includes classics, comics, children’s books, magazines, and even some top Nook books.


BookRix has almost 1000 free ebooks in its Juvenile fiction category.  These are available for free download in EPUB or for free reading online.


Classicly has almost 1800 free novels in its Young Adults collection.  These are available for free download in PDF or Kindle (AZW).


DigiLibraries has over 2,000 free ebooks in their juvenile fiction category as well as over 200 works in their Juvenile non-Fiction category and 27 free ebooks in their Juvenile Horror & Ghost Stories category.  Most are available for free reading online as well as free download in PDF, MOBI and EPUB.


FeedBooks has around 200 free novels in its Original Books Juvenile & Young Adult genre as well as over 100 free novels in their Public domain (classic) Juvenile & Young Adult (free) section.

International Children’s Digital Library  

This nonprofit organization carries more than 4,600 titles in 80 languages. With a free account, kids from all over the world can log in and enjoy!

 

ManyBooks (Young Readers)  2443 free classic books available for online viewing or download in an extremely large variety of formats.

 

Open Library

Part of the Internet Archive, Open Library is a nonprofit that offers a free account that connects readers with over a million eBooks for all ages, including more than 30,000 titles for children

 

 

Resources to help you access digital collections from your local Public Library

hoopla

By linking to your library membership, you can digitally borrow thousands of free ebooks, comics, movies, television programs, music, audiobooks and more. The platform works through a desktop site, on Apple, Android, or Amazon mobile devices, and on streaming tools such as Roku, AppleTV, Chromecast, AndroidTV, and FireTV.

Libby 

This site partners with the membership at your local library to provide free eBooks. While many libraries have their own Overdrive site, allowing users to access materials through computers and Kindles, downloading the app brings those eBooks to phones and tablets.

Enjoy ebooks and audiobooks for free through your local public library or school.
